What I’ve learned so far… {editing tips}

Tomorrow is going to be a very exciting day!!! I cannot wait to tell  you about what is coming soon. (Hopefully it will be soon):-)

But today I am going to talk about one little editing tip that I learned from Katelyn. Below are a couple examples of photos that I was having a problem getting the color correct on. The skin tones just look a little off and I didn’t know what to do to fix it. Then Katelyn introduced me to split toning. 🙂 I have used it in the past to give a vintage effect to photos but I didn’t know how useful it could be for those problem photos. Check out how much this little adjustment has changed these photos. You may have to click on the photo and make it bigger in order to see the split toning box.

    hey ashley, do you use split toning here specifically for the skin tones? and how do you know where to stop the slider? or more specifically what do you look for …. thanks!! this post is helpful.

    • Yes, I use it specially for the skin tones. I normally only use it when the skin tones are looking a little dull or when they need to be warmed up a little bit. I put the slider in the same place every time. I just played around with it until I found the right shade and now use it every time. I hope that helps.
